Position Overview
We are currently seeking 6 regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) Electrical Faculty Members within the School of Construction and the Environment. BCIT stands as a premier Electrical Training Centre in North America. Our Electrical Trades program is delivered by a vibrant, rapidly expanding, and collaborative department, now accepting applications for full-time Instructors in our Construction and Industrial Electrician Apprenticeship and Electrical Foundation programs. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction to apprentices in Construction Electrician, Industrial Electrician, Electrical Foundation, and/or part-time/industry service students.
- Prepare and present engaging classroom lectures and hands-on lab instruction.
- Provide instructional support and evaluation for students.
- Manage administrative tasks, including examination grading, student assessments, curriculum development, and program enhancement.
- Ensure necessary resources are available for effective training delivery.
- Contribute to the development of modifications in workshop and instructional areas.
- Perform other duties related to the instruction of trades and vocational programs.
- Collaborate with the Electrical Trades Department Head.

Qualifications
- BC Trades Certificate of Qualification with Inter-Provincial Red Seal in Construction Electrician and/or Industrial Electrician.
- A minimum of five years of relevant work experience as a journeyperson.
- Supervisory experience is required.
- Previous teaching experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with programming and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLC) is beneficial.
- Experience in electronics, instrumentation, and motor control is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to instruct the complete curriculum from Foundation to Level 4.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to teach.
- Experience supervising apprentices is essential.
- Proficient command of the English language, both written and spoken.
- Field Safety Representative (FSR) certification is preferred.
- Completion of the Provincial Instructors Diploma Program is desirable.
- A proven record of ongoing professional development to stay updated with new technologies and industry practices.
- Strong hands-on skills and experience in maintaining and repairing electrical equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and internet tools, particularly in using spreadsheets and Adobe applications.

Salary Range
Salary Range: $78,133 - $115,805 per annum, prorated based on percentage and term of appointment.
