This role is pivotal in steering the design, development, and execution of mechanical and process engineering solutions tailored for municipal water and wastewater treatment systems. The selected candidate will oversee engineering initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, regulatory standards, and budgetary limits.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Direct and oversee mechanical and process engineering initiatives for municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities, including Lift Stations, Pump Stations, and Treatment Plants.
  2. Formulate project plans, timelines, and financial budgets, ensuring strict adherence to schedules and cost limitations.
  3. Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external partners to fulfill project goals.
  4. Design and evaluate mechanical and process engineering layouts, including system configurations, piping schematics, equipment specifications, and process flow diagrams.
  5. Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  6. Perform engineering calculations and simulations to substantiate design concepts.
  7. Facilitate design reviews, risk assessments, and troubleshooting efforts.
  8. Establish and uphold quality control protocols to guarantee the highest levels of engineering excellence.
  9. Conduct audits of designs and processes to pinpoint improvement opportunities and ensure adherence to project specifications.
  10. Act as the primary liaison for clients, addressing technical questions and providing updates on project status.
  11. Prepare and submit essential documentation for necessary permits and approvals.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  2. Professional Engineer designation with APEGA, P.Eng required.
  3. A minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical and process engineering, specifically within municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  4. Demonstrated experience in project management and leading engineering teams.
