Software Development Lead

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Development Lead to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing and maintaining cutting-edge software solutions that support our mission of advancing innovation in Alberta.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of innovative software applications using agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, define scope, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Mentor and guide a team of software developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from design and coding to testing and deployment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background coupled with exceptional leadership and communication skills.

  • Proven experience leading software development teams in an enterprise setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and code development tools (Azure DevOps, Git).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A passion for innovation and a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.
Nice to Have
  • Proficiency in using or delivering Azure cloud services in an enterprise setting.
  • Experience managing vendor resources and vendor performance, establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • The combination of private and public sector experience is ideal.
  • Proficient in C#, SQL, JavaScript, and HTML
