We are seeking a distinguished scholar and educator to join our faculty as a tenure-stream professor in the Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of research excellence and a commitment to teaching and mentoring students.
About the PositionThis is a full-time tenure-stream position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with an expected start date of July 1, 2025. The successful candidate will contribute to the University of Toronto's leadership in interdisciplinary research and teaching at the intersection of technology and theatre/performance.
Responsibilities- Conduct innovative and independent research in performance and technology, with a focus on emerging technologies and their implications for theatre and performance.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in theatre and performance history, theory, and practice, as well as core curricular courses in drama and theatre studies.
- Participate in academic mentorship and leadership in the Centre and the BMO Lab for Creative Research in the Arts, Performance, Emerging Technologies and Artificial Intelligence.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the University to develop new research initiatives and programs in performance and technology.
The successful candidate will have a PhD degree in Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies or a related area, with a clearly demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance our existing departmental strengths.
