We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team at MAPLE FURNITURE as a Cabinetmaker's Helper. In this role, you will assist skilled tradespersons in various aspects of cabinetmaking and furniture production.
Key Responsibilities- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials with precision and care.
- Measurement and Preparation: Measure weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting, ensuring accurate calculations and safe operations.
- Mixing and Application: Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt with attention to detail and quality control.
- Cleaning and Organization: Clean and pile salvaged materials, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
- Maintenance and Equipment Operation: Perform routine maintenance work and tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction, adhering to safety protocols.
- Assistance and Support: Assist skilled tradespersons in various tasks, providing support and contributing to the success of the team.
- Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees, promoting diversity and inclusion.
- Support for Youths: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment, fostering growth and development.
- Support for Indigenous People: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people, promoting reconciliation and understanding.
- Work Term: Permanent position with a stable work environment.
- Work Language: English language proficiency required.
- Hours: 32 hours per week, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.
