Job Summary

At Canadian Plains, we are seeking a skilled Apprentice Pipefitter to join our team. As an Apprentice Pipefitter, you will possess the knowledge and skills required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for various industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate installation of pipe systems.
  • Assist experienced pipefitters with the installation of equipment, pipe, and structural steel on-site.
  • Assemble piping and valves, and prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging.
  • Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility.
  • Measure, cut, and thread pipe to the required shape.
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems.
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate the system.

Requirements
  • Registration with the appropriate apprenticeship board as an apprentice pipefitter is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience working as an apprentice in the oilfield industry or construction.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Capable of working with small tools and as part of a team.
  • Fluent in speaking and reading English.
  • Ability to follow directions.
