About the Opportunity

The Township of Esquimalt is seeking a motivated individual to fill an auxiliary Fitness Instructor position in our Recreation Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and implement group fitness classes and weight room orientations
  • Track and record attendance numbers
  • Ensure participant safety
  • Create inclusive classes for all fitness levels
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to facility program and fitness inquiries
  • Communicate with coworkers, customers, and supervisors
  • Maintain current certifications and submit new or updated certificates to the Fitness Programmer
Requirements
  • High school graduation
  • Current BCRPA Group Fitness Instructor certification or equivalent
  • Current BCRPA Personal Trainer certification or equivalent
  • Current First Aid with CPR Level C
  • Possess and maintain a clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Up to two years of fitness leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
What We Offer

$33.12 – $35.80 hourly plus 14% in lieu of benefits

3-6 hours per week, evening and weekend availability required
