Metal Recycling Labourer

American Iron & Metal is seeking a motivated individual to take on the role of a General Labourer within our Metal Recycling Operations.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Site Manager, the General Labourer will be tasked with the sorting of various metals and providing assistance to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort materials and categorize them into designated piles based on quality standards.
- Safely operate a forklift as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Work in diverse weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
- Engage in sorting, picking, processing, and shearing of metal components.
- Prepare materials for shipment and delivery.
- Operate a tow motor when required.
- Perform additional general labour tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience in an industrial environment is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with non-ferrous metals is advantageous.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Demonstrates responsibility and attention to detail.
- Adherence to health and safety protocols is essential.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Physical capability to perform demanding tasks.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a loud and dusty environment.

Work Schedule: Full-time position with opportunities for overtime compensation after 44 hours.
