Position Overview:

The Manager of Marketing Technology plays a pivotal role within the Growth & Performance team, collaborating across departments to implement marketing technology solutions that enhance acquisition strategies.

We are looking for a marketer with a strong technological background who is committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences at every touchpoint. Joining our team at this exciting juncture in our digital transformation journey, you will significantly contribute to the development of new capabilities.

Your projects will encompass CRM improvements, marketing automation integrations, enhancements to the prospect journey, and the establishment of lead scoring and nurturing frameworks.

This position requires managing relationships across various departments at Sun Life, including Project Management, IT, Analytics, and Marketing, to ensure high business performance. Success in this role hinges on critical thinking, a passion for resolving business challenges, effective communication with senior leadership, and a keen awareness of current and emerging industry trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director to outline the future operational model for marketing campaigns, aiming to deliver personalized campaigns at scale through marketing technology.
  • Consult with performance marketing teams to enhance digital marketing initiatives by leveraging marketing technology capabilities.
  • Establish business rules within marketing technology systems to enable performance marketing teams to target high-value prospects effectively.
  • Create automated triggers and programs to proactively engage with high-value leads.
  • Develop strategies to integrate and consolidate data from multiple sources for continuous journeys and specific campaigns.
  • Identify current and future needs for performance marketing and integrations, define business requirements, and secure stakeholder support.
  • Oversee the performance of the Growth & Performance Marketing Technology strategy, proactively identifying and implementing tactical improvements.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for our Marketing Mix Model, collaborating with internal teams to establish best practices for data management.
  • Participate actively in Agile meetings, ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks to meet project objectives.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for the Growth & Performance Marketing Team in platform development initiatives led by internal and external partners, ensuring compliance with operational policies.
  • Provide support for marketing technology solutions, particularly during upgrades or fixes outside regular business hours.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with Salesforce and Adobe Campaign is essential.
  • A university degree in Marketing, Business, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in marketing technology or data analytics are preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in managing marketing operations programs within large corporate structures, including retail and financial services.
  • Preference for candidates with Agile and/or Project Management certifications.
  • Extensive knowledge of contemporary marketing technology solutions, including CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, and data visualization tools.

Skills and Competencies:

  • 7+ years in digital acquisition marketing, demonstrating a successful track record in driving user acquisition and revenue growth.
  • Experience across the development lifecycle from concept to implementation.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to plan and execute development programs while managing cross-functional teams in a complex environment.
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms and audience segmentation for campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing platforms and analytics tools.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate teams towards change without direct authority.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet objectives.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives independently.
