Job Summary:

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to seniors in residential care communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the supervising physiotherapist in developing and implementing treatment plans for residents, ensuring a safe and effective care environment.
  • Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising physiotherapist, including gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, and application of modalities.
  • Deliver dynamic and engaging exercise classes for groups of residents, promoting physical activity and social interaction.
  • Set up and prepare equipment, and maintain a clean and safe environment for residents' treatments.
  • Ensure regular communication with the physiotherapist regarding resident status and treatment interventions.
  • Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary system.

Requirements:

  • PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology, or a similar healthcare background.
  • Previous experience in a long-term care setting is an asset.
  • Standard First Aid & CPR Certification.
