About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Floor Installation Specialist to join our team at Soni & Sons Construction. As a key member of our flooring department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality installations of various floor coverings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Prepare Surfaces: Inspect surfaces to be covered and prepare them for installation, including measuring and marking surfaces.
  • Measure and Cut Materials: Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding, as well as measure, cut, and install carpeting, resilient floor coverings, and hardwood floors.
  • Install Floor Coverings: Install floor coverings, including carpeting, resilient floor coverings, and hardwood floors, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Inspect and Repair Damaged Floor Coverings: Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings, ensuring that all installations meet our high standards.
  • Work in a Variety of Environments: Work in urban areas, various locations, and other environments, adapting to different conditions and requirements.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in the flooring industry.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding work, including handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, kneeling, and ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Personal Suitability: Strong judgement, organized, and a team player with excellent hand-eye coordination.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Dusty and odorous environments, requiring attention to safety and health protocols.
  • Work Schedule: 32 hours per week, with a permanent work term and English as the primary work language.
