The OSCO Construction Group is a leading provider of construction services in Eastern Canada and the USA. Our diverse group of companies operates in various sectors, including broadcasting, commercial real estate, construction, industrial distribution, and petroleum services.
We have a centralized IT function that supports our business operations. Our IT team utilizes various Microsoft platforms, Oracle EnterpriseOne ERP, CAD systems, Business Intelligence tools, and other software applications.
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced ERP and Database Systems Administrator to join our IT team in Saint John, New Brunswick. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliable performance of our ERP system and providing technical support to our end-users.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and manage our JD Edwards ERP system, including building and deploying new packages, installing ESUs, system upgrades, monitoring system health, troubleshooting issues, and supporting end-users.
- Manage and deploy SQL Server databases across our environment, including performance monitoring, security management, backups, and other tasks.
- Create and maintain existing systems documentation.
- Build and/or support integrations between database systems and application systems.
- Act as a Tier 3 support specialist for ERP and SQL systems, handling escalated incidents and service requests while providing guidance to our Tier 2 support team.
- Responsible for testing and ensuring business continuity of database systems in a disaster recovery scenario.
- Participate in projects focused on continuous improvement and assist the IT department in achieving its larger goals.
- Two-year technical diploma in Information Technology/Electrical Engineering Technology or bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years' experience in server administration, database platforms, virtualization, and cloud-based technology.
- Project Management experience or certifications considered an asset.
- ITIL, ISC2, and Microsoft SQL related certifications considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to participate in on-call rotation.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders.
