Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Supervisor to join our team at TDG Transit Design Group Inc. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical design process and ensuring the delivery of high-quality designs that meet our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical design team in the development of new designs and the revision of existing designs
  • Assign and monitor tasks within the department to ensure timely completion
  • Collaborate with the mechanical team to develop and manage project schedules and deadlines
  • Create 3D models and drawings of new components for fabrication using Solidworks
  • Develop and maintain product designs and assemblies to meet customer requirements
  • Design and develop lighting systems for locomotive and rail passenger vehicles

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience as a Mechanical Designer
  • 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience with parametric modeling in CAD software, Solidworks is an asset
  • Knowledge of GD&T and basic understanding of electronics/PCBs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent capacity for synthesis analysis and innovation
  • Experience with optical design is an asset
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (Design) or University degree in Mechanical Engineering
