Job Summary
The Driver is a key member of the Environmental Services team at Prairie Mountain Health, responsible for transporting linen and other items to off-site facilities. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport linen and other items to off-site facilities, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Load and unload trucks, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles, including checking fluid levels and reporting any issues to the Manager, Environmental Services.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and driver logs.
- Assist in the training and orientation of Environmental Services staff and students.
- Collaborate with the Environmental Services team to ensure consistency and quality of service throughout the department.
- Collect and sort soiled linens, weighing and recording them for processing.
- Operate laundry equipment as needed, ensuring efficient and effective operation.
- Distribute laundry and linen as required, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Conduct daily tours of assigned areas, inspecting for cleanliness and reporting any issues to the Manager, Environmental Services.
- Restock supplies and assist with inventory procedures as needed.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and previous experience in a similar role is an asset.
