Archivist and Museum Curator Opportunity

Shawnigan Lake School, a leading independent co-educational boarding school, seeks a highly skilled Archivist and Museum Curator to join our team. Located on a stunning 270-acre campus in Canada's beautiful west coast, our world-class facilities include ten boarding houses, a theatre, film lab, and observatory.

About the Role:

  • Develop and implement strategies for the acquisition, preservation, and exhibition of cultural artifacts and historical records.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate museum and archival resources into the curriculum.
  • Design and deliver educational programs and exhibitions that promote cultural awareness and appreciation.
  • Manage and maintain the school's museum and archives, ensuring the long-term preservation of our cultural heritage.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Museum Studies, Archival Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in museum and archival work, with a focus on education and community engagement.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
