Job Title: Family Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Medicine Specialist to join our team at the Haliburton Family Medical Centre.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting medical examinations, and developing treatment plans to meet the unique needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and analyze medical information from patients, family members, and other medical professionals
  • Conduct thorough medical examinations to identify diseases and injuries
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to promote healthy habits and wellness
  • Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures to determine the most appropriate medical treatment
  • Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments
  • Participate in health care policy and planning
  • Advise patients on health care and provide counseling and support
  • Supervise staff and report births, deaths, and contagious diseases to government authorities
Requirements:
  • College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP)
  • Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC)
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
  • Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II)
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. A valid driver's license is required.
