About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Care Paramedic to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in emergency situations, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency medical services, with experience in critical care and patient assessment. You will be responsible for maintaining and continually enhancing your competencies through ongoing professional development, including participation in education programs, research, and continuous quality activities.

We are looking for a team player who is able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Grade XII diploma
  • Registration and licensure with the College of Paramedics of Nova Scotia (CPNS)
  • One year of experience working as an Advanced Care Paramedic (an asset)
  • Current BLS (HCP) Certification
  • Previous work experience in a hospital setting or emergency care (preferred)
  • Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, patient assessment, and telecommunication skills
  • Competencies in other languages (an asset, French preferred)

Hours
  • Long Assignment Part-time (50%) Position; 37.5 hours bi-weekly
  • Approximately 12 months
Compensation and Benefits

$36.57 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
