Role Overview:

The Finance Analyst role is essential within the Canada Finance Organization, collaborating closely with colleagues across finance and other departments to drive significant transformation initiatives. Reporting to the FP&A Manager, the Finance Analyst will be instrumental in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, data analytics, and reporting to facilitate strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the timely and accurate preparation of the annual business plan and periodic forecasts, culminating in management presentations.
  • Generate insightful commentary on performance and prepare executive-level presentations of data, drawing conclusions and providing outlooks.
  • Offer systems expertise and training to business partners, enhancing their understanding of data content, sources, and flow.
  • Maintain and improve financial models and databases to ensure precise and timely financial analysis, safeguarding data integrity.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to deliver actionable insights.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports, variance analyses, and performance metrics to support decision-making processes.
  • Compile and distribute monthly financial reporting packages to management, emphasizing key insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Develop sales scorecards and incentive plans utilized by management to motivate frontline sales staff towards achieving goals.
  • Create dynamic, user-friendly dashboards and reports in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) to visualize key business metrics and support data-driven decisions.
  • Continuously seek enhancements in financial planning and reporting processes, driving efficiencies and improving the quality of financial information.
  • Collaborate with business unit leaders to formulate and execute financial strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Support the assessment of business investment opportunities.
  • Engage in finance and cross-functional projects.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Computer Science.
  • A Master's degree or MBA in Finance or a related field is advantageous.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • 2-5 years of experience in a finance-related environment.
  • Background in Financial Planning and Analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from data and trends.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP systems and business information systems (SAP ERP/SAP Business Warehouse).
  • Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
  • Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience in developing and implementing enterprise-scale reports and dashboards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Formal training in coding languages is considered a significant asset.
