About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Organic Modeller to join our team at DNEG. As a key member of our facial modelling team, you will be responsible for creating highly detailed and realistic 3D models of characters and creatures for feature films and television productions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement advanced facial modelling techniques to achieve photorealistic results.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, riggers, and other team members to ensure models meet artistic and technical specifications.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new techniques to continuously improve the quality of organic modelling within the team.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of textures, shaders, and materials to enhance the realism of models.
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide creative input to the overall design and development process.
Requirements
  • Strong spatial awareness and a good sense of form, scale, anatomy, likeness, and proportion.
  • A keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Maya, Houdini, and ZBrush.
  • Experience with facial capture, meta-human, and other facial capturing tools.
  • Ability to work closely with the rigging team to ensure models work smoothly within the rigging pipeline.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A good knowledge of Linux and familiarity with Windows.
  • Experience in other areas of visual effects (TV, Games) will also be taken into account.
  • Knowledge of NURBS modelling and scripting in Python.
