Position Overview

As an Event Planning Specialist, you will be responsible for organizing, coordinating, and executing various events, including children's birthday parties, within a retail environment. Your goal is to create a seamless, enjoyable, and engaging experience for customers.

Event Coordination Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee multiple events simultaneously, ensuring all aspects are executed flawlessly.
  • Engage with customers of all ages, fostering a fun and creative atmosphere.
  • Demonstrate crafting projects and provide guidance to participants, including face painting and leading other activities.
  • Prepare and set up event enhancements such as gift bags and balloons, adhering to company standards.
  • Communicate event details to customers and team members effectively.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including responding to inquiries and completing necessary documentation.
  • Adapt event plans based on customer feedback and needs.
  • Develop contingency plans to address any unforeseen circumstances.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction during scheduled events.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards before, during, and after events.

Customer Service Duties

  • Assist customers in locating products and provide solutions to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Deliver a friendly and efficient checkout experience.
  • Educate customers about loyalty programs and private label credit card benefits.
  • Inform customers about customer feedback surveys.
  • Support omnichannel processes, including online orders and in-store pickups.
  • Participate in unloading deliveries and restocking merchandise.
  • Manage inventory organization and presentation.
  • Engage in stock optimization tasks and promotional setups as assigned.
  • Support loss prevention and safety initiatives.
  • Adhere to operational procedures and company policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards.
  • Interact respectfully with colleagues and customers, maintaining a positive demeanor even in challenging situations.
  • Receive training in sales and production within the custom framing department.
  • Contribute to daily store cleanliness, including sweeping, vacuuming, and maintaining restroom hygiene.

  • Prior retail or customer service experience is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to navigate the store environment.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
  • Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using ladders or similar equipment.
  • If assistance is needed to perform essential job functions, please communicate with your supervisor to explore reasonable accommodations.
  • Work in a public retail environment, with some areas climate-controlled and others potentially not; outdoor tasks may be assigned.
