About the PositionThis full-time live-in position is an opportunity for an individual or couple to have a positive and lasting impact on children and their families. As a Foster Parent, your primary objective is to provide specialized treatment-oriented family-based care for children who may otherwise be placed in more structured programs.
Responsibilities- Follow all legislative and agency-mandated policies and procedures involved in the care of foster children.
- Participate fully in the process of family reunification, if appropriate.
- Complete a comprehensive screening/selection process, including criminal record checks, child welfare intervention checks, and a home study with your family.
As a Foster Parent, you will receive a tax-free per diem, pre-service training, 24/7 on-call support, a team environment, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
About YouWe are seeking compassionate and caring individuals who possess the desire to serve their community and connect with individuals needing support. You should have verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with and relate to people of all ages.
Experience working with vulnerable children and families or the willingness and ability to develop your knowledge and skills is required. You must be willing to provide day-to-day care for one youth, attend meetings, and respond to crisis.
The successful candidate(s) must also have current and valid Standard First Aid/CPR, valid Alberta Driver's Licenses, adequate and current insurance, and be willing to provide driver's abstracts upon hire.
