Instructional Coach Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instructional Coach to join our team at York Region District School Board. As an Instructional Coach, you will play a critical role in supporting educators in designing and implementing effective instructional practices that align with our values and goals.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with educators to develop and implement instructional strategies that promote student learning and achievement.
  • Providing ongoing support and feedback to teachers to enhance their instructional practices and pedagogical approaches.
  • Facilitating professional development workshops and training sessions focused on differentiated instruction, assessment for learning, and culturally responsive teaching.
  • Assisting in developing and implementing curriculum materials, resources, and assessments that align with our educational philosophy and objectives.
  • Supporting teachers in analyzing student data and using assessment results to inform instruction and intervention strategies.

You will foster a culture of collaboration, reflection, and continuous improvement among educators through regular meetings, discussions, and sharing of best practices.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Education.
  • Eligibility for a Northwest Territories teaching certificate.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring, or facilitating professional development for educators.
  • Knowledge of effective instructional practices, assessment strategies, and curriculum design principles that align with our values.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • The ability to develop trusting and supportive relationships with teachers, administrators, students, and community members.
  • Familiarity with educational technology tools and platforms to support teaching and learning.
  • Experience working in diverse and multicultural educational settings.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional growth and learning.
