We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instructional Coach to join our team at York Region District School Board. As an Instructional Coach, you will play a critical role in supporting educators in designing and implementing effective instructional practices that align with our values and goals.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with educators to develop and implement instructional strategies that promote student learning and achievement.
- Providing ongoing support and feedback to teachers to enhance their instructional practices and pedagogical approaches.
- Facilitating professional development workshops and training sessions focused on differentiated instruction, assessment for learning, and culturally responsive teaching.
- Assisting in developing and implementing curriculum materials, resources, and assessments that align with our educational philosophy and objectives.
- Supporting teachers in analyzing student data and using assessment results to inform instruction and intervention strategies.
You will foster a culture of collaboration, reflection, and continuous improvement among educators through regular meetings, discussions, and sharing of best practices.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Education.
- Eligibility for a Northwest Territories teaching certificate.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring, or facilitating professional development for educators.
- Knowledge of effective instructional practices, assessment strategies, and curriculum design principles that align with our values.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- The ability to develop trusting and supportive relationships with teachers, administrators, students, and community members.
- Familiarity with educational technology tools and platforms to support teaching and learning.
- Experience working in diverse and multicultural educational settings.
- A commitment to ongoing professional growth and learning.
