We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance and Regulatory Legal Counsel to join our team at High Tide Inc. As a key member of our Legal and Compliance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring our organization's compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the development and implementation of our compliance and regulatory strategies, providing expert advice on applicable laws and regulations.
- Review and analyze regulatory requirements, identifying areas of risk and developing strategies to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with our Director of Compliance to ensure the effective management of regulatory activities and compliance with provincial and federal authorities.
- Function as our Privacy Officer, developing and implementing protocols to ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws.
- Lead our SOX compliance initiatives, ensuring the effective implementation of our compliance program.
- Manage and respond to regulatory requests for information, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Conduct regular compliance checks to ensure our business operations are in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Supervise external legal support and collaborate with other members of the Legal and Compliance department to update precedent contracts and contract management processes.
- Law degree and membership in a provincial bar in good standing in Alberta.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in compliance and regulatory affairs.
- Strong knowledge of SOX and risk management principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex problems and develop effective solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
