Job Title: Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Exalted Construction Inc. as a key member of our construction team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. They will also prepare tenders and quotations, build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Prepare tenders and quotations
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
  • Survey building locations and levels
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Supervise other workers
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy, dusty, and outdoors environments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Reliability and accuracy
