Director of Risk Job Description

The Director of Risk will be responsible for the overall direction of the maintenance department of the seven Jasper Hotels (including restaurants, retail, offices, and commercial tenants) as well as Jasper Staff Accommodation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and manage annual capital and operating budgets and monthly forecasts in collaboration with relevant department heads.
  • Manage department expenses and labor.
  • Manage large projects from beginning to end.
  • Collaborate with Hotel Managers for maintenance of hotels and commercial tenants.
  • Monitor and maintain all building systems.
  • Ensure shops and facilities are clean, stocked, and kept in a professional working manner.
  • Track and report weekly all maintenance issues and potential risks.
  • Complete special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of boilers, HVAC, building controls.
  • Proven ability to lead projects.
  • Leadership experience managing and developing teams (in a hospitality environment preferred).
  • Administrative skills including financial acumen.
  • Knowledge of tools, procedures, technical skills, and safety rules used in the maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Certified Pool Operator Certificate (or willingness to do the training shortly after starting).
  • Valid Driver's License.
