Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Dispatcher for our School Bus Drivers. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services. The Dispatcher will report directly to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for the efficient dispatch of drivers while providing precise navigational support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the dispatching of drivers, ensuring adherence to established operational standards.
- Manage incident reporting and respond promptly to any issues that arise.
- Coordinate timely dispatch of drivers to various routes.
- Notify drivers of road closures and potential delays.
- Monitor all active routes to ensure timely arrivals and prevent any students from being left unattended.
- Assist in scheduling vehicle maintenance as necessary.
- Provide professional and courteous responses to phone and email inquiries.
Qualifications:
Your profile should include:
- Experience in dispatching within the transportation or service industry, or relevant educational background.
- Proficiency in using radio communication to effectively interact with drivers.
- Strong time management and stress management skills.
- Adept at multitasking and prioritizing urgent tasks.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities with a focus on data-driven decisions.
- Ability to follow established procedures to meet corporate and legal requirements.
- Demonstrated customer service excellence.
- Computer literacy, particularly in MS Office applications (Word and Excel).
- Valid Ontario G license and a clean driver's abstract.
- Clear criminal record check.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the local region.
- Effective communication skills in English.
