The role of a Registered Technologist at Brightshores is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality laboratory services. This position requires a dedicated professional with a strong background in medical laboratory science.
Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a College Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology
- Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
- Certification from the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS)
- Proficient in laboratory and hospital software systems as necessary
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, particularly in Histology and Core lab disciplines (Chemistry, Haematology, and Transfusion Medicine) within a hospital laboratory environment
- Exceptional phlebotomy skills across all collection methods
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff, physicians, patients, and suppliers
- Ability to maintain precise records and documentation
- Experience with various analyzers, dedicated instruments, calibrations, and microscopes
- Capability to perform Therapeutic Phlebotomy
- Familiarity with Point of Care Testing
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage exposure to infection, noise, odours, and high-pressure situations
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Respect for confidentiality and the ability to maintain privacy
- Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends, and provide coverage across multiple sites as needed
- Consistent performance and attendance records
