Position Overview

CEDA is seeking a qualified Journeyman 310T Truck & Coach Mechanic to enhance our operations. This role is integral to our service delivery, focusing on maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.

As a member of our team, you will be part of a unionized environment under the International Union of Operating Engineers local 793, ensuring a supportive and collaborative workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventative maintenance on various heavy-duty equipment, including Wet and Dry Vacuums, High-Pressure Units, and highway tractors and trailers
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, emissions systems, hydraulic systems, and pumps
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, inspecting equipment and replacing or repairing defective components
  • Interpret and execute work orders efficiently
  • Respond to service calls in the field as required
  • Collaborate with apprentices, providing guidance and delegating tasks
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and toolbox discussions

Qualifications

  • Certified Journeyman 310T Heavy Equipment Technician
  • Valid Class G license with a clean driving record (no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years)
  • Possession of a Class AZ or DZ license is advantageous
  • CVIP certification is a plus
  • Ability to handle weights up to 50 lbs
  • Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is beneficial
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
  • Must have personal tools necessary for the role

  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to completing necessary documentation accurately
  • Familiarity with Cummins and CAT engines is an asset
  • Proficient with computers and technology
