The Salvation Army is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to assist in the maintenance of its facilities and properties. This is a part-time position that requires a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general maintenance, repairs, and preventative tasks in a timely and thorough manner.
- Conduct regular reviews of the condition of the facility and work with the supervisor to secure contracts for projects.
- Maintain a list of qualified and/or approved contractors for trades and services.
- Coordinate set up and tear down of specified spaces for regular or seasonal events.
- Ensure the external property is kept in a safe and clean condition.
- Completion of Secondary School or Equivalent.
- Post-secondary education or training in building, property, or trades management is an asset.
- A minimum of one (1) year of related experience in building operations, property maintenance, including heat plant, HVAC, carpentry, construction, and general repairs.
- Working knowledge of building codes and regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and fire and emergency procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Able to lift to 50 lbs, push, and pull various items.
- Able to climb, and work from, ladders at heights of up to 15 feet.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and willingness to sign a confidentiality statement.
