New Westminster Schools is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Casual On-Call Crossing Guard.
Job Function:As a Crossing Guard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of students to and from school at designated public crosswalks. This includes:
- Monitoring traffic and pedestrian flow
- Reporting any incidents or concerns to the Principal or designate
- Performing other related duties as required
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Grade 12 graduation or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good physical health and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Knowledge of First Aid is an asset
Casual On-Call shifts are 2 hours per day, Monday to Friday, while school is in session. Short-term assignments may also be available. Casual employment may lead to a regular position in the district. The Crossing Guard pay rate is $25.05 per hour, plus 20% in lieu of benefits.
