Educational Requirements- Completion of Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is mandatory.
- Expect a dynamic atmosphere characterized by noise, dust, and various odours typical of a sawmill.
- Ensure all machinery and systems are functioning effectively, conducting necessary maintenance and repairs.
- Make recommendations regarding personnel decisions, including hiring and promotions.
- Develop and manage work schedules for the team.
- Coordinate activities with other departments to enhance operational efficiency.
- Prepare and present production reports and other relevant documentation.
- Propose strategies to boost productivity and enhance product quality.
- Supervise and schedule the activities of a team of 5-10 sawmill machine operators.
- Monitor and uphold safety conditions within the workplace.
- Provide training to staff on job responsibilities, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Oversee the safety of all operational processes.
This role involves direct supervision of a small team, ensuring that all operational tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
Transportation and TravelPublic transportation options are available for commuting to the worksite.
Physical Demands- Tasks may include repetitive motions and handling of heavy materials.
- The position is physically demanding, requiring manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Work involves a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in writing.
- Demonstrated judgement and organizational skills.
- A collaborative team player who can lead and motivate others.
Ideal candidates will have between 1 to 7 months of relevant experience in a similar role. This is a permanent position with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week.
