Job Summary

The Animal Resource Centre - ARC Wash Area Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring the provision of clean, sanitized, and sterilized equipment to the ARC facility. This position requires the safe operation of large industrial cleaning equipment, including rack washers, autoclaves, and bedding disposal equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the efficient and timely movement of equipment and supplies to the facility
  • Remove dirty and contaminated equipment
  • Assist with the processing of biohazardous equipment and materials
  • Maintain appropriate storage facilities for equipment, feed, and supplies
  • Meet all fire and safety regulations
  • Participate in daily health monitoring of animals and perform animal husbandry and care activities
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Minimum one year previous experience working in a laboratory animal facility
  • Previous experience working with laboratory animals, wash area equipment, and autoclaves
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of biocontainment and biosecurity
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all specialized machinery
