Job Overview
The Aerospace Engineering Specialist will report directly to the PAV/AVS ATO SDE at IMP Group, providing essential onsite support to the CC-130H Aircraft Engineering Officer (AEO) and the Weapon System Manager (WSM) office.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver effective communication in aerospace engineering.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements for DND.
- Provide timely engineering design solutions for the CC-130H fleet.
- Coordinate effectively with the CC-130H AEO, PAV/AVS ATO SDE, and the Senior Manager, Engineering Programs (DND).
Requirements
- Must meet the eligibility criteria for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Canadian Government Security Clearances.
- Complete tasks punctually while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Directly support inquiries from the CC-130H AEO, addressing airworthiness and technical engineering concerns promptly.
Communication
- Effectively relay CC-130H AEO airworthiness and technical engineering issues to the PAV/AVS ATO SDE and Senior Manager Engineering Programs (DND).
Research and Analysis
- Investigate and recommend the necessary scope and depth of airworthiness and engineering support to the PAV/AVS ATO SDE and Senior Manager Engineering Programs (DND).
- Analyze regulatory aspects and deliverables related to aircraft repair designs, modifications, and other design changes to support the CC-130H fleet.
Compliance and Certification
- Participate in developing engineering substantiation data to meet airworthiness certification compliance requirements.
Workplace Conduct
- Ensure adherence to IMP Group's Human Resources safety and security policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in engineering design and analysis within your engineering discipline.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with design teams and project management personnel.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- 7-10 years of experience in an aerospace environment, focusing on aircraft design, testing, and certification, or equivalent engineering experience in a government-regulated industry.
Additional Assets
- Expertise in the DND Technical Airworthiness Manual or Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR 521) is considered an asset.
- CF Veteran status is an asset.
