Job Overview

The Building Caretaker at FERNIE STANFORD HOTEL & RESORT plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities. This position requires a proactive individual who can handle various maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program lasting 1 to 2 years, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage waste disposal by emptying trash cans and other waste containers.
  • Perform adjustments and minor repairs on heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, while coordinating with tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Engage contractors for necessary repairs and maintenance of the property.
  • Conduct minor appliance repairs as needed.
  • Execute safety and security inspections regularly.
  • Assist in moving heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as painting and drywall repairs.
  • Water and care for plants, lawns, and gardens.
  • Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
Equipment Used

Work Environment

This role requires physical capabilities such as bending, crouching, and kneeling. The ideal candidate should demonstrate reliability and a strong work ethic.
