Senior Investment Advisor

In this role, you will play a crucial part in driving outcomes for our institutional investment clients by providing innovative and effective solutions. Role Overview: As a Senior Investment Advisor, your primary responsibility will be to deliver investment consulting materials and expert advice to institutional clients. You will:

  • Provide consulting support services and technical guidance on a variety of advisory and OCIO investment clients and accounts, including pension and benefit plans (DB and DC), insurance funds, trust and endowment funds, and other specialized funds.
  • Anticipate client challenges and proactively develop solutions in collaboration with Account Executives and lead Consultants.
  • Review client accounts and relationships, recommending enhancements to the value Aon provides based on a thorough understanding of the client's business and insights into industry and investment trends.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic initiatives for the Investment Consulting Practice.
  • Identify gaps between client needs and existing Aon Investment Consulting services, proposing and developing service enhancements to enrich Aon's product/service portfolio.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior Investment Consulting colleagues, ensuring high standards of service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in a financial or investment consulting environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of institutional investment processes and industry insights, ideally gained through direct experience in manager research, fund management, investment consulting, or plan sponsor roles.
  • Solid grasp of investment concepts and financial markets.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian pension fund landscape.
  • Ability to manage a diverse portfolio of institutional clients, including interactions with C-suite executives and investment committees.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical decision-making skills, with a focus on developing solutions for client and business challenges.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a knack for recognizing and capitalizing on growth opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects while balancing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical expertise and a commitment to staying current with investment industry trends and legislative changes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel as needed to service clients.
  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Commerce, or a related field is required; completion of an MBA or CFA is preferred.
