Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Lead Spiritual Leader to guide and support a vibrant church community in the Jane-Finch/North York area. This role involves preaching, pastoral care, and community engagement.
About Our Church: Established in 1980, our church is a member of the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec and the Jane-Finch Church Coalition. With a diverse membership rooted in Caribbean and West African cultures, we strive to reflect the multicultural essence of our community. Our church has been a cornerstone of faith and service in North York for over 43 years, committed to collaborating with local mission partners.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an assistant or associate pastor.
- Leadership experience or completion of theological training from an accredited seminary.
- A master's degree in divinity is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate pastoral care during life's celebrations and challenges.
- Collaborate with church leaders to ensure spiritual oversight and fulfill the church's mission.
- Lead prayer sessions and Bible study groups.
- Support families and individuals facing stress, grief, or financial difficulties.
- Oversee the spiritual well-being of the congregation.
- Encourage and empower church members to utilize their spiritual gifts and talents.
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to effectively communicate the Gospel across diverse age groups and situations.
- Experience in teaching and engaging church members in evangelistic efforts.
