The role of the Sous-Chef at Breezy Corners involves overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation.
Qualifications- Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar role is essential.
- Maintain comprehensive records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
- Analyze operating costs and relevant data to optimize kitchen efficiency.
- Develop and create innovative recipes.
- Guide and instruct kitchen staff in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of dishes.
- Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for various events, including banquets.
- Supervise and manage cooks and other kitchen personnel.
- Regularly prepare and cook food for guests, including special functions.
- Requisition necessary food and kitchen supplies.
- Coordinate equipment purchases and repairs as needed.
- Plan menus that meet quality standards and dietary requirements.
- Prepare dishes accommodating customers with food allergies or intolerances.
- Train staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe food handling practices.
Oversee a team of 3-4 kitchen staff members.
Work Environment- Fast-paced and dynamic kitchen environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Physically demanding tasks, including handling heavy loads.
- Combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with extended periods of standing.
- Requires bending, crouching, and kneeling.
