Job SummaryWe are seeking a part-time Elementary Counsellor to join our team at Majagaleehl Gali Aks Elementary School in Hazelton, BC. The successful candidate will work with students, parents, and staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans that address academic, social, and emotional learning difficulties.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with academic, social, and emotional learning difficulties
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other support staff to provide a comprehensive support system for students
- Provide guidance and support to students in areas such as academic achievement, social skills, and emotional well-being
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in school counselling
- Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives that promote student well-being and academic success
- Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for)
- Experience teaching students at all grade levels
- Working knowledge of the learning standards, curricular competencies, and core competencies within the revised BC Curriculum
- Ability to work as part of a team to develop and implement individualized learning plans
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to relate well with students, parents, and staff members
- Committed to following the goals and strategies outlined in the school and district framework for enhanced learning
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Salary as per collective agreement
- Relocation allowances for teachers from other areas

- Isolation Allowance for our remote communities
