Unit Overview

Customer Support Services at Hamilton Health Sciences delivers a wide range of essential services to both clinical and non-clinical clients. This program is designed to integrate various support services, ensuring the highest quality of service is provided to benefit our patients and the community. Services include Portering, Linen Management, Clinical and Core Housekeeping, Room Scheduling, Learning Centre, Service Response Centre, and Waste Management.

Position Overview

As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Environmental Aide provides crucial environmental and unit support within patient care areas. This role operates in accordance with the established job description for Environmental Aides.

Work Schedule

Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in cleaning or healthcare is an asset.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with unit staff, including accepting assignments and following instructions.
  • Effective communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members, both verbally and in writing.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks and organize work according to unit requirements.
  • Familiarity with domestic and commercial cleaning equipment, as well as cleaning agents and germicides.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive motions, and lift objects using proper body mechanics.

As a condition of employment, proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required to be submitted to Employee Health Services.
