Job Title: Rope Access Level 3 Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Rope Access Level 3 Supervisor to join our team at Brock Canada. As a Rope Access Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the safety of crews engaged in rope access activities, organizing work functions, and supervising crews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accessing hard-to-reach areas without scaffold or work platform
  • Utilizing specialized knowledge of Rope Access Technology to manage the safety of crews
  • Descend, ascend, and traverse ropes for access and work while suspended by harness
  • Performing duties such as inspections, painting touch-ups, washing windows, pressure washing, waterproofing, insulation, caulking, and other kinds of work at height or high angle
  • Complying with all safety regulations of Brock Canada
  • Ensuring that work is performed in accordance with Contractor Specifications and/or as directed by the Contractor's Representative
  • Ensuring that the proper equipment is being used for the specified tasks
  • Reading specifications, such as blueprints and data, to determine requirements
  • Performing work with co-workers in a safe, responsible, and cooperative manner
  • Required to complete safety paperwork such as FLRA's, Start Cards, Rescue & Rigging plans, etc.

Requirements:

  • Previous Rope Access experience
  • IRATA Level 3, multiple Re-certifications preferred
  • Ability to clearly communicate and educate workers, supervision, safety, and the client on rope access maneuvers, procedures, best practices, and safety bulletins
  • Secondary trade tickets an asset, preference to red seal insulators
  • Ability to work while suspended in a harness for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in an environment with moderate to severe vibrations and noise
  • Ability to work in confined spaces for 4-7 hours per day
  • Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding at extreme heights
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds often and occasionally up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to maintain footing on surfaces which are sometimes slippery
  • Ability to see well (naturally or with correction) and distinguish colors
  • Ability to hear well (naturally or with hearing aid)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other employees, supervision, and the client
  • Ability to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and feel objects; and coordinate well the use of hands or fingers and eyes
  • Reliable transportation to and from the work location
  • CSTS and Fall Protection are minimum requirements, other safety tickets as required by site
  • LSE (Leadership for Safety Excellence) training or obtaining of certification within 3 months
