Our Faculty of Behavioral Sciences is currently seeking to fill course openings for the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (MACP) program. We are looking for Sessional/Part-Time Professors to instruct practicum and skills-based courses, which will include online synchronous elements. Comprehensive orientation and training will be provided prior to the assignment of teaching responsibilities.

Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution, along with registration or certification from a relevant professional regulatory body in their province. A minimum of five years of experience in Counseling Psychology or a related field is required. You will be responsible for delivering graduate-level courses, utilizing the latest research and methodologies in Canadian counseling and psychology, while demonstrating a commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization in your teaching practices.

This position offers remote work opportunities through an online delivery platform.

Applications must include a current Clinical License and an Official Transcript from the Doctorate-granting institution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering and facilitating courses in counseling psychology theory and practical skills
  • Supporting student success through continuous guidance and mentorship
  • Managing online discussions and learning activities via the Brightspace platform
  • Providing timely assessments and constructive feedback for student submissions
  • Addressing student inquiries and concerns promptly
  • Collaborating with Practicum Supervisors to complete evaluations
  • Facilitating online synchronous sessions related to the curriculum
  • Handling administrative duties associated with the course
  • Contributing to strategic program development and engaging in ongoing professional growth
Qualifications:
  • A conferred Doctorate degree in counseling, psychology, psychotherapy, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in counseling, psychology, psychotherapy, or a related area
  • Active clinical practice registration or certification with a recognized professional regulatory body in your province
  • Prior teaching experience at the graduate level is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with the Moodle online delivery platform is advantageous
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
