Job Title: Special Security Officer at the National Assembly

The Security Division provides guidance to authorities regarding protective measures and security protocols. Its primary goal is to ensure the safety of individuals and properties, as well as the security of facilities utilized by parliamentarians and staff of the National Assembly. The overarching mission is to foster a secure atmosphere for democratic processes, allowing parliamentarians to perform their responsibilities in safe environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute duties as a law enforcement officer in accordance with the Police Act;
  • Uphold peace, order, and public safety through preventive measures, surveillance, escorting, and guarding activities;
  • Deter criminal activities and legal infractions to safeguard the physical well-being of individuals, properties, and facilities;
  • Offer assistance and information to visitors at the National Assembly premises.

Essential Requirements:

  • High level of focus and concentration, sound judgment, a strong sense of responsibility, and effective teamwork capabilities;
  • Exceptional communication skills, a customer service mindset, and the ability to adapt to various and unpredictable scenarios;
  • Good physical fitness and flexibility in work hours, including day and night shifts, 7 days a week;

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • High School diploma;
  • Completion of designated training programs;
  • Proficiency in French;
  • Canadian citizenship;
  • Successful completion of background checks and medical evaluations;

Compensation Details:

  • Hourly wage ranging from $20.65 to $28.60;
  • Additional salary increments for specific roles with variable hours.
