About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Underground Foreman to join our team at MatrixHR. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising a crew of skilled tradespeople and ensuring the safe and efficient execution of underground construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of a crew of skilled tradespeople, including conductors, operators, and laborers.
  • Conduct daily field safety and environmental inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Verify the accuracy of material deliveries and ensure that all necessary materials are available before they are needed.
  • Maintain good employee relations and ensure that all employees have received proper orientation and training.
  • Review and complete all required documentation, including safety reports and equipment maintenance records.
  • Collaborate with the Safety/Project Supervisor to ensure that all operations are conducted in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the successful execution of underground construction projects.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in underground utility construction.
  • Direct underground experience, specifically in sewer and water construction or pipelayer experience.
  • High School education or extensive experience in a related field.
  • Valid Class 5 AB driver's license with a clean abstract.
  • Thorough knowledge of WCB Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Proficient in reading drafts, drawings, and prints.
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is required.
