Senior Advisor for Information Security Controls Assessment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult on regulatory compliance obligations, reporting, and inquiries.
  • Provide guidance and support in preparation for Operational Risk Management evaluations and in drafting management responses along with suitable remediation actions.
  • Assist in formulating management responses and appropriate remediation measures for First Line control exceptions and self-declared findings.
  • Offer consultation and advice to stakeholders on a wide array of Technology Controls / Information Security programs, policies, standards, and incidents relevant to AIVM.
  • Conduct project consulting focused on risk assessment, defining necessary controls, evaluating the appropriateness of implemented control procedures, vulnerability assessments, and other pertinent areas.
  • Lead or contribute to the completion of risk and control design assessments for AIVM activities, articulating and documenting the impact of control deficiencies on the business and the overall organization, along with risk mitigation and remediation strategies.
  • Ensure that technology, processes, and governance are established to monitor, detect, prevent, and respond to both current and emerging technology/security threats affecting TDBG's operations.
  • Support the development and maintenance of ongoing Technology Risk reporting, monitoring key trends, and defining metrics to regularly assess control effectiveness in your area.
  • Collaborate proactively with technology partners, stakeholders, and service/platform owners to ensure all technology security components are integrated into the bank's overall Enterprise Architecture, addressing any control deficiencies.
  • Participate, if necessary, in computer security incident responses relevant to the business and represent the respective function and enterprise position to the business and incident response team.
  • Adhere to internal policies, procedures, technology control standards, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Oversee, monitor, and enforce enterprise frameworks and methodologies related to technology controls and information security activities.
  • Influence behavior to mitigate risk and promote a robust technology risk management culture across the enterprise.
  • Define, develop, implement, and manage standards, policies, procedures, and solutions that mitigate risk while maximizing security, service availability, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Actively manage relationships with various Technology areas, businesses, corporate, and control functions to ensure alignment with enterprise and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed about emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements, assessing their potential impacts on the organization.
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes and sound infrastructure aligned with risk appetite.
  • Engage in business-specific, cross-functional, and enterprise initiatives as a subject matter expert, helping to identify risks and provide guidance.
  • May develop, provide, or contribute to complex reporting, analysis, and assessments at the functional or enterprise level.
  • Keep current on emerging trends and developments, enhancing knowledge of the business, analytical tools, and techniques.
  • Prioritize and manage your workload to deliver quality results while meeting assigned timelines.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork, ensuring timely communication of issues and points of interest.
  • Establish effective relationships across multiple business and technology partners, program, and project managers.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business units.
  • Possess expert knowledge of IT security and risk disciplines and practices.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of organizational technology controls, security, and risk issues.
  • May engage in complex, comprehensive, or large projects and initiatives.
  • Act as a lead expert resource in technology controls and information security for project teams, the organization, and/or external vendors.
  • Typically reports to a Senior Manager or higher.
  • Information security certification or accreditation is an asset.
  • Experience with risk partner engagement, including ORM, Audit, and Regulators.
  • Experience with testing technology controls.
  • Experience in developing and managing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
  • Excellent knowledge of cybersecurity industry control standards.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Confluence, JIRA.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow Security Operations modules is a plus.
