The Role:

The Community Facilities Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading, mentoring, and managing a team of part-time Facility Attendants and contractors to ensure the delivery of a diverse array of services.


  • Assist the Community Facilities Rental Administrator by providing daily leadership, encouragement, and support to the facility attendants, ensuring exceptional customer service and adherence to their daily responsibilities.
  • Oversee the scheduling, training, and management of facility attendants to guarantee sufficient coverage for Community Facilities rentals while ensuring that all facilities are utilized and maintained safely, in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Organize, manage, and schedule facility cleaning operations, ensuring that cleaning standards are upheld by both facility attendants and contracted service providers.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks and collaborate with contractors and maintenance personnel to schedule and complete necessary facility maintenance work.
  • Conduct required safety inspections of facilities, documenting and addressing any identified safety issues within Community Facilities.
  • Support departmental objectives and business strategies by developing guidelines, procedures, and processes, while seeking opportunities for enhanced efficiency.
  • Oversee the daily operations of City of Airdrie Community Facilities to ensure compliance with safety policies, guidelines, procedures, and all applicable health and safety, environmental, and legislative requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage the setup, takedown, cleaning, and overall preparation for community facility rentals and events.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field is considered an asset.
  • Current Standard First Aid – Level C CPR and AED certification is required.
  • Experience with Proserv is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity is required.
  • Background in customer service or administration within a recreational setting is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a capacity to positively influence team members.
  • Familiarity with AGLC and AHS regulations related to rental events and commercial kitchens is beneficial.
  • Experience in banquet and/or facility rental operations is an asset.
  • Proficiency in payroll, scheduling, event rental, and administrative software systems is advantageous.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate team members to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the capability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Adaptability in a dynamic and diverse work environment.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, resourceful, and innovative with a forward-thinking approach to improvement and change management.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.

Additional Details:
