About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Front-End Developer to join our team at Rise People. As an Intermediate Front-End Developer, you will contribute to the success of our company by building high-quality websites and web applications for a wide range of clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with project managers, brand strategists, designers, and other developers on web projects to ensure seamless execution and delivery.
  2. Interpret project briefs to understand project requirements and develop a deep understanding of client needs.
  3. Conduct research and test ideas to determine technical feasibility of client ideas, UX/UI designs, and other project requirements.
  4. Build custom, high-quality websites and web applications to drive results for our clients, utilizing your expertise in front-end development.
  5. Optimize websites and web applications for maximum speed and scalability, as well as for SEO best practices, to ensure a competitive edge.
  6. Develop reusable code and libraries for future use, promoting efficiency and consistency in our development process.
  7. Promote clients towards fresh, exciting ideas and make suggestions for better solutions to problems, driving innovation and growth.
  8. Work in a fast-paced agency environment, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and development methods.
  9. Stay ahead of the curve by keeping abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the field of front-end development.
Requirements
  • Possess a passion for helping companies achieve their objectives and drive business growth.
  • Have experience using and/or working with design systems such as Tailwind, Material, and/or Bootstrap.
  • Have experience with WordPress, with a focus on custom development, and be familiar with Advanced Custom Fields, WooCommerce, Gravity Forms, and Yoast SEO.
  • Have experience with full-stack development, although this is not a requirement.
  • Have a basic knowledge of image authoring tools, such as Illustrator, Photoshop, or Sketch, to perform tasks such as cropping, resizing, or making small adjustments to graphics or images.
  • Have a good understanding of SEO principles and ensure that websites adhere to them.
  • Have a good understanding of coding and development best practices.
  • Be a critical thinker and problem solver with strong research skills.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be able to work well in a team and with a range of creative people.
  • Have confidence in building rapport with clients and nurturing good working relationships.
  • Be able to see other people's points of view and take feedback.
  • Be highly self-motivated, well-organized, and have an eye for detail.
  • Be able to work under pressure and manage workloads effectively.
  • Be able to handle multiple planned and unplanned projects and responsibilities.
  • Be able to work well within strict budgets and timelines.

We work onsite to be intentional about optimizing collaboration and creativity on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Remote/Work From Home is optional on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Workstations include a MacBook and an electric sit-stand desk. Our 2 kitchen cafes are stocked with really, really good coffee.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position will be commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful candidate. Pay ranges at Rise People are reviewed annually against external data within the Alberta market to attract, retain, and motivate our incredible talent with a competitive total compensation package.

Everyone is eligible for a performance incentive bonus, regardless of their role within the company. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including Health and Dental (premiums shared 50/50), Long-term disability (fully paid), Life and Critical Illness Insurance, Emergency Travel Medical, and an Employee and Family Assistance Program.
