Job Overview

Compensation - $23 Per Hour -- Full Time Seasonal Role

As a Warehouse Material Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include the selection, packaging, and dispatching of customer orders, along with the counting, verification, reception, and storage of incoming vendor supplies and customer returns. A keen attention to detail is essential to ensure outstanding levels of customer service and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations while executing job tasks Manage loading and unloading of trucks, operate forklifts, and utilize other material handling machinery Receiving tasks involve: Upon unloading vendor shipments or customer returns, obtain the packing slip and confirm the materials received. Document any discrepancies or damaged items. Print and verify the computer receiving documents and input received materials into the system. Identify special order items and damaged goods, storing them in the appropriate locations. Record all shipping discrepancies on the freight carrier's Bill of Lading, initiate freight claims, and forward necessary documentation to the relevant team member.
Picking, packing, and shipping responsibilities include: Selecting materials for customer orders, counting and verifying items against shipping documentation. Assemble and package materials suitably for pickup or shipment to customers. Complete documentation for any shipments being delivered via third-party carriers or requiring Transportation of Dangerous Goods documentation. Notify the Supervisor of any inventory discrepancies and damaged or defective materials that could affect customer service levels. Maintain cleanliness and safety in the warehouse by removing empty cartons, metal banding, pallets, and other debris. Report any safety concerns within the warehouse to the Warehouse Supervisor and/or Profit Centre Manager. Assist colleagues in providing customer service at the counter. Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Profit Centre Leadership.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 diploma or equivalent Excellent customer service and verbal communication abilities Capability to develop thorough product knowledge Willingness to learn to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment High level of attention to detail and accuracy in processing orders Ability to learn and utilize the relevant software systems for order processing.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with Eclipse, Word, Excel, and Outlook
