Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Home Support Worker to provide essential assistance to clients in their daily lives. This role involves supporting individuals with personal care and household tasks, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar role.
  • Certificates: Personal Support Worker Certificate is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with bathing and personal hygiene.
  • Support with feeding and meal preparation.
  • Launder clothing and household linens.
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • Provide personal care and companionship.
  • Supervise and care for children as needed.
Skills and Attributes
  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • Strong client focus and excellent oral communication skills.
  • Flexibility and initiative in various situations.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience and honesty in all interactions.
Work Environment

This position may require physical demands including bending, crouching, and kneeling. The role involves a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and may include repetitive tasks. Candidates should be prepared to work under pressure.

Additional Information
  • Weight Handling: Ability to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
  • Security and Safety: A criminal record check is required.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English is necessary; knowledge of Bini or Edo is an asset.
Target Audience

This role primarily focuses on providing support to children, including those in kindergarten and toddler to preschool age groups.

Work Conditions

This is a temporary position with approximately 75 hours of work bi-weekly. A bonus may be included as part of the financial benefits.
