Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Analyst to join our team at the University of Regina. As a key member of our Information Services department, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing new data integrations and enterprise data exchange solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop custom data integration processes and supporting strategies to facilitate data exchange across dissimilar enterprise systems and data sources.
  • Develop and deploy custom software applications to meet the needs of our institutional stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical requirements for junior team members.
  • Analyze custom applications, commercial software, and underlying data sources to provide recommendations and strategies for improvement.
  • Collaborate with IS colleagues to ensure seamless integration with infrastructure support, networking, data storage, security, and deployment.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members to ensure their success in their roles.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Proven expertise in Oracle and other relational databases, API design, implementation, and architecture, programming languages such as Java, C++, COBOL, Python, JavaScript, or Pro*C, and scripting languages such as BASH shell, PERL, or PHP.
  • Solid understanding of web development principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
