About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Russell Heights Community House. As an Assistant in Child Development, you will play a vital role in supporting the growth and development of young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement educational programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Present stories and songs to stimulate imagination and creativity in children.
  • Supervise staff, students, or volunteers to ensure a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Assist Early Childhood Educators or supervisors in maintaining accurate records.
  • Encourage children to express their creativity through arts, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing creative activities.
  • Guide and assist children in developing appropriate habits for toileting, dressing, and eating.
  • Prepare snacks and organize dining and rest areas.
  • Observe children to detect potential learning or behavioral issues and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Establish guidelines for behavior.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with colleagues and community service providers working with children.
  • Plan and maintain a safe environment that protects the health, safety, and well-being of children.
